What's a saying or phrase that's never made sense to you?

Oh my gosh, i was just thinking of this today! "The best offense is a good defence." ?? I used to think i knew what this meant, but then i was rethinking it today and realized i think i was wrong. And if i was right, i don't remember what i even thought it was.

jamie, you are so cute! i think a senseless saying is this: "Do as I say, not as I do."

What in the world? How does this make sense? It's like someone yelling at you to stop yelling! Weirded out.

yeah, it is a pretty lame saying, you can switch it up and say the best defense is a good offense. (I like it this way better) I think the best way to look at it is that offense and defense are both helped by the effectiveness of the other.
